Music licensing in Italy
Do I need an additional licence?
Local licensing organisations
- SIAE — compositions (“Musica d’Ambiente”); for shops, salons and bars or restaurants it also collects SCF’s share
- SCF — sound recordings (record producers and performers), where SIAE does not collect for your type of business
- Soundreef — compositions in its own catalogue
Start with your local SIAE office; it tells you whether SCF must be contacted separately for your type of business.
What SoundMachine covers
SoundMachine provides licensed music for business use, but in Italy it does not replace a local public-performance licence. Read SoundMachine's licensing information.
No music service's licence covers DJs, live bands, karaoke or music from other sources such as radio, TV or CDs.
